HOSPITALITY – BASIC WORK SKILLS

Our onsite Café is the perfect learning space for this 8 week course!

This course is designed to provide an opportunity for participants to learn basic hospitality skills from the ground up!

An exciting addition to this course is that participants will also gain basic food preparation skills by making a simple meal each week to share and enjoy!
Learning about budgeting, shopping, following recipes, using basic kitchen equipment and more!

The focus is on self-development and confidence building while learning new skills and having fun!

Please note:
In response to restrictions related to the COVID-19 Pandemic we have shortened in-class time to 2 hours for all Funded Courses.
Delivery of Course content may now include alternate ways of ensuring students receive access to a complete curriculum. For example, online delivery via Zoom video conferencing app and self-paced learning, as required.
Trainers will advise students accordingly in each Course.

JOB SEEKER SKILLS & RESUME PREP—SHORT COURSE

Preparing yourself for the challenges of seeking employment, including returning to work can be daunting.

This course is designed to provide practical strategies, useful advice, and tips to help participants gain confidence and skills to prepare themselves for entering the workforce, returning to work, and volunteer opportunities.

This course will include creating a Resume—how to write and adjust your resume and cover letter for specific jobs.

RELEASE THE STRESS – ART AS THERAPY

‘Release the Stress’ is a therapeutic art-based course that offers the opportunity for individuals to learn how the use of art can strengthen mental health and wellbeing. Students can increase their self-esteem, develop supportive social networks and improve the sense of control over their lives.

By creating their own expressive artworks students will use a multitude of mixed mediums & use the reflective process of art journaling to gain understanding/meaning of personal barriers.

The goal is for students to gain personal confidence to move forward in life to pursue further study and/or volunteer/employment opportunities.

SYOB (Start Your Own Business)

Interested in starting your own business, but don’t know where to start?

This 8 week cohesive introductory course is designed for people with an interest in starting a micro-business (1-4 employees).

Topics include: Inception; Legal; Financial; Documentation; Online presence; Promotion; Networking & Support; and The Next Step, providing participants with an overview of considerations and requirements of starting a small business.
